Today still makes me laugh when I think about it.
You called me around lunchtime, and I happened to be talking to my nephew.
Then somehow, you ended up talking to each other.
I wasn’t expecting that little conversation at all.
And then my nephew casually said the funniest thing:
“Tita no boyfriend, okay.” 😂
I could already imagine your reaction.
You immediately teased me about it, laughing and repeating, “TITA NO BOYFRIEND. OK!”
Of course, I laughed too.
I told you I wasn’t making him say it. He was just being my nephew, and apparently he had decided that I wasn’t allowed to have a boyfriend. 😂
But honestly, Jhi, there was something strangely cute about that moment.
You were just calling me for a normal lunchtime conversation.
You ended up talking to my nephew.
And suddenly, you were being introduced to this tiny person in my life who apparently had very strong opinions about my love life.
Then later, you teased me again about it.
“Anong nanay niya, kasama ka na dun po. Hahaha!”
And I realized how naturally you had slipped into that little moment with me.
It wasn’t planned.
It wasn’t serious.
It was just you, me, my nephew, and one very confident declaration that apparently I should have no boyfriend. 😂
Maybe that’s why I remember it.
Sometimes it’s the unexpected little moments that stay with me the most.
