Today is the last day of the pre-order, and after thinking about it for a while, I finally decided not to get the A5 Take-A-Note Planner for next year.
Honestly, it feels a little strange to even say that.
I have been a Take-A-Note A5 planner user since 2021. That means I have been using one for five years now, and for the longest time, getting a new TAN planner felt like something I would automatically do every year. No questions asked. It was just part of my routine.
But this year, I started asking myself: Will I actually use it?
The truth is, I still don’t know what my life will look like next year. I do not have work right now, and I honestly do not know what exactly I would be planning for. Most days, I am just at home, and I started feeling like maybe I would be buying another beautiful planner only to leave most of its pages empty.
And then there is the price.
The A5 TAN planner is now around ₱2,200, which made me stop and think even more. I know planners are something I enjoy, and I have always loved having a nice one, but ₱2,200 is still ₱2,200. Especially when I am not even sure if I’ll have enough things to write in it.
Another small reason? It is WHITE.
And I know that sounds a little silly, but I am just not really into white planners. 😅
So instead of getting the Take-A-Note again, I started looking at cheaper options. Right now, I am thinking about trying Kinbor. I am considering either the A5 Kinbor Timeline or the A5 Kinbor 8-point grid planner.
It honestly feels like I am downgrading a little, especially after being a loyal TAN user for five years. But maybe it is not really a downgrade. Maybe it is just choosing something that makes more sense for my life right now.
Maybe I do not need an expensive planner just because I have always bought one.
Maybe I can try something different.
And who knows? Maybe the Kinbor planner will surprise me. Or maybe I will miss my Take-A-Note so much that I will eventually go back. 😂
But for now, I think I am okay with this decision.
Five years with the A5 Take-A-Note Planner is already a pretty good run. And maybe next year is the perfect time to see what it is like to plan differently — especially when I am still figuring out what exactly I’ll be planning for.
