How to Dress Up That Gray Polo Shirt in Construction Site

March 10, 2015

Working as an Office Engineer is what I’ve always dream of. Never did I imagine myself working in a construction site with bunch of construction workers.

Construction sites are dangerous place. And dressing up would always be boring in a construction site. Worker’s attire is important as it is in a construction industry. In one of our project site, staff and workers should wear proper uniform (white long sleeve for workers and gray polo shirt for staff), denim pants free from holes and rips, safety shoes or boots and hard hat upon entrance. The exact dress code varies from site to site from staff to laborers.

It is so hard for me and for most because of the dress code we have to follow. You cannot find a lady wearing summer outfit or in their comfortable shorts and sandals around the construction site. You will always find us in our gray polo shirt, denim jeans and closed flat shoes (or safety shoes).

But, there are still some simple steps that can greatly improve our look around the workplace.

Break from lighter shades. Keep the outfit basic (classic dark jeans, white sneakers) and punch up the look with a bright bag.

Pair that gray polo shirt with boyfriend jeans, set of black loafers and maroon sling bag for maximum impact and feminine touch.

Add interest in color. A pants in a strong color is a smart way to give that gray shirt you wear every day an update.

There is something about grey jeans that is effortlessly chic. Grays on grays work perfect with a bright colored sneakers.
